Second Law

One of the consequences of Newton's Second Law of Motion is that a steady force will produce a steady acceleration. To see this, use the LoggerPro application to take a video clip of an object slowing down due to the steady force of friction. The analytic tools of LoggerPro will let you easily analyze whether the velocity decreased in a steady pattern, as the law predicts.
A good video clip will

• show both ends of the meterstick;
• show motion from left to right;
• have a line of sight perpendicular to the meterstick;
• have a clear view of the cart;
• show the cart slowing down under the influence of friction alone.
